I wouldn't and didn't on my 14. I have on my past diesels but couldn't risk the motor warranty. If money and warranty isn't an issue, and you have a good diesel shop that knows what they are doing on a 6.7, then deleting it would be great.

If you delete and run a no/low HP tune, the smoke is virtually non existent. I stay on the lowest tune on my Spartan (which is 40hp) and the only way you can see anything is if you get in it at dark with car lights behind you. Even then, it's a light haze.

I would say delete but be careful. Don't tow heavy in anything but stock tune. You can blow a head gasket running tunes and towing. know.

Got a question... what happens if the MiniMaxx breaks or is removed(stolen).

Will the engine keeps its last tune...? or will it revert back to stock in a few engine off-on cycles.
If it reverts back to stock, what happens,,,? does the engine go right to no start mode because it can't read any exhaust sensors...? I have read both scenarios,,, Iirr on the H&S site it vaguely describes both scenarios in different sections...?

It should stay on last tune for ever unless someone mucks with the truck computer. There may be a problem when you replace it. Not sure about that.

If the MM was unplugged from the OBD or stolen, whatever, eventually it will default to stock level tuning, but keep the Emissions present or moved tune. i.e. a deleted truck will default to deleted stock hp, it won't kill it. You couldn't run Hot or Tow until it was plugged back in continuously.

It says that in the manual somewhere. I also left my truck at the airport one time, removed the radar detector that is hard wired and grabbed the MiniMaxx. When I came back I was in no mood to dig out my electronics so I put a couple hundred km's on with no MiniMaxx and a few ignition cycles. My butt dyno told me it was definitely running stock. Once it was plugged back in (my truck was warm so all parameters were met like coolant temp etc), it stepped up to Performance (Hot) within seconds.

OMFG,,, you got to be kidding me.
Its very quite and no smoke till you turn up the MM... then,
The 4th setting on the MM with delete is ridiculous...
What a sound, sounds loud when on the pedal, a very very angry truck, unbelievable the difference in speed and power...WOW,,, and rolls coal on initial wot, then clears up completly...
I need new better grip tires.

On stock setting, the mpg around town, taking it easy is now up to 18.2. On a 200mile trip today, on the Hyw saw 22.7 taking it easy at 65-70. Kind of nice not be wondering when it will go into regen, or blow a egt sensor, or have to fill def, or feel that little ruff idle when in regen. Or have to keep driving to finish regen.
Can't get the smile off my face.

The one downside to me, it now smells like a diesel. No smoke ever on the stock setting, but the diesel 'aroma is here, once in a while I get a wiff. Not bad, but it was nice to never smell anything ever. Suppose its a compromise, that I can diffidently live with

Hmmm, interesting,,,? how much difference is there between my 4" no muffler straight thur delete pipe and a 5" exhaust...? What do you mean by wake her up...? It seems very awake now, goes like a scalded dog, not a 8000lb truck. Is a 5" with oem turbo and engine just more noise..?

A 5 inch is just more noise and less power due to not enough back pressure unless you're adding other mods to push the hp well over 600.

A downside? Diesel smell in the morning is a good thing!

It's funny you say that because the last 2 vehicles I traded dealer made me sign a disclosure saying all emissions are on the vehicle and if they were to not I would be liable. I'm not sure of the details and didn't care because they were both stock vehicles.
I am thinking of doing a delete on this one if I keep it

Installed my MM, Sinister EGR delete kit and 5" Flo Pro this week on my '12 and wish I had done this two years ago when I drove the truck off the lot! Its true that with anything mechanical that problems are possible, but the increase in power is awesome and the enjoyment factor is worth the risk! I'm fully in the delete camp from now on...
