So I've found that B20 seems to make my truck happy, but I want to make sure that I have everything fully configured with the right parts to function well with B20 (or even B100). I've so far replaced some of the soft fuel line with gates Barricade fuel line (which is rated to take all fuels including B100). I need to do the fuel return lines also and am going to use gates Barricade line again for those. Now the question for me becomes, do I need to make any special considerations for the o-rings on the fuel return lines? I got the delphi kit off amazon.
At the same time, are there any other parts that need work/modification to be fully biodiesel compatible?
Really, as long as the lubricity is good enough for the IP it should be fine. O-rings are iffy no matter what, but they probably will work /better/ on B100 than the ULSD we have now.
Use Viton o-rings, not sure what the delphi kit comes with, but if its not viton, they tend to break down no matter what you're running. The viton ones I believe are safe for biodiesel, and have a higher heat rating as well.
The people in the alternative fuels forum may have some better answers for you as they play around with biodiesel all the time.
When I got my viton O rings from McMaster Carr they came black. So no way to tell unless the package says so, unfortunately.
Good call on getting some from Amazon
Likewise, my vittons from McMaster-Carr were black. Click on the "Forums" tab in the black bar at the top of the main page, go to "Bio-diesel, Propane and alternative diesel fuels" and post your question there. I am sure the gurus there will help you out.
