Replacing Fuel Tank Pressure Sensor
They were failing it on the P0446 and the MIL light. I have since gone back and they passed it. It had to be with the cleaning of the Vent solenoid, that I did, that fixed that. Even though it sounds like I did a lot, even went far off base, testing wise, that is the only thing I really saw or made a change in.
Now, could the shops be trying to get more out of me? It is possible. I've been going to this one shop for more than 10 years. Not at all to the other shops. When I went this last time, I had a familiar face. Did that matter? I do not know.
I do, however, still have a P0442. But, no MIL.
I have started on assembling my smoke machine. Then I'll go after the small leak.
I found the following and my torque is now registering like y'all state that yours reads. Did I think it was bad? Not really. I just needed to find the proper way to read it, that made sense, so I could make determinations on that and the other issues.
Mode/PID: 221639
Name: _Fuel Tank Pressure Sensor Volts
Short Name: FTP_V
Min/Max: 0,5
Equation: (A*256+B)/13107
Header: Auto
Diagnostic start/stop: blank
Override PID: blank
I'll post more on what I find later.
Now is the time, unless you want to guess, is to get the smoker previously mentioned, and smoke test the system to find the actual leak.
Your whole premise for resurrecting this old semi-related thread was misplaced, you have a (more or less) simple evap leak.
