96 F250 Fuel Problem?

My 96 F250 seems to be starving for fuel as it accelerates. It will gasp for fuel then regain some power over and over again until it's up to about 40 or 45 mph from there it moves along fine. Any suggestions as to where I should start troubleshooting? Thanks in advance.

Start with the basics..........how old is the fuel filter?

Same for plugs/wires/cap/rotor....
