My trucks been actin up a little. Stumbling lack of power wanting to accelerate on its own. Icp volts were low at .08v koeoff. So I simply swapped out for a new sensor. Drove ten miles this morning fine then the truck started sputtering bad and then died when I pulled into school. Think the new sensor was bad? I'm gunna swap out the old one in the parking lot just so I can get home
You could also just try unplugging the icp sensor if it is suspect. The pcm will run on a default value and should get you home without hurting anything. If the truck runs the same with the sensor disconnected as before then there is more going on. Also check the pigtail for any oil in the connector, swollen insulation, or chaffed wires. Some people replace the pigtail regardless just to rule it out and stick with a motorcraft sensor, not something from the parts stores.
Cool thanks for the quick reply. And ya it's from some diesel care supply website. $35 instead of $150 from ford. I'll post the results of unplugged sensor
I unplugged the icp sensor right when I got out of class and the truck fired right up. I guess I need to just get a sensor from Ford.. Truck runs good with icp sensor disconnected
Cool thanks. Ill go see if my scan gauge picked up a code in a minute. It probly didn't but I don't have any other way to check codes except the odometer trick which I forgot. im assuming its the code for icp low circuit. After I did my head gaskets early last year, I got low circuit icp code and the keep alive memory code. Eventually they went away after I cleared them a couple times and drove a couple hundred miles. And now im getting bad icp sensor symptoms and low voltage to it. I hate to assume stuff..
