Any Android with the ability to link to the OBDII adaptor should work. I have a very cheap tablet sitting here that would work if I had a WiFi OBDII adaptor, but it doesn't have BT.
Love it!
Question number one - wear can I aquire the switchs?
Question number two! What can is that and what kicker - amp is that and how many wats? I'll do my video in a min.
The switches are from http://www.otrattw.net/ and the company was great to work with. Many options.
The cb is a 990 ssb with a 75 watt kicker amp. I'll get the model number for ya, but it'll reach out and works both regular and ssb (single side band).

Those switchs are killer!

I need a mic for it and coax.
The device to the left is a 6.3 mega galaxy phone! It is what I plan to use torque pro on and such.

I like the connex units. I see you like communication options too!
I pick up some good chatter on the way home from work. The radio in my truck has a gps for maps, as well as my tablet, as well as my phone. I hope I never get lost.

My gps is a Lil dated 4 years or so.. it does see some of I 40 and such in okc be they have redone the highway. However for the most part it does good.
Love my connex has plenty of power - I need to find my a mic and coax on the cheap.
My mega 6.3 is awesome - pretty much a tablet but has the ability to call and such.
I'm gonna grab me some of those switches as soon as I get some money freed up.
I want my tablet running torque pro to flip down from the roof - haven't figured out how I wanna do that yet!

I might make one suggestion: Take the mounting bolts out of the OBDII port and move it behind the knee panel. With your OBDLink MX WiFi, you don't have to worry about battery drain, and you don't risk kicking it. Just a thought.

Tug, you've inspired me on my setup. Although the adapter says it powers off to save batteries, I'm always concerned to leave it plugged in past a day. I'll look at the OBD connector to see about swinging it around.
All of those switches use a secondary fuse box under the steering wheel. Not much space left there.

I've had mine sit for weeks at a time with no issue. Stinky has been parked since Christmas with the adapter plugged in, I'll let everybody know the results when I grab the keys again.
Off topic - does anyone use the cup holds on the dash? Idk what it is about Ford trucks and cup holders but they are one of the most annoying devices on the planet! All this technology and the cup holders don't hold cups! I will say the 97 gens seem to have a better set up.... my 97 - not so much - couldn't use the cup holds what so ever.
Is it just me or has anyone else notice Ford has a cup holder issues?
As Tugly has said, any android tablet with bluetooth will do, however I'm partial to samsung.
I like them because they have solid support for their products, they have Bluetooth which is a requirement plus they have options for cellular data plans.
In my truck, I have my pioneer in dash gps, my cell phone and the tablet. As I travel, torque records data and I'll keep the tablet set to watch email or access pandora.
Never know when we will need to research and I like to be prepared. For the sale price of the 7", it's hard to go wrong for the build quality and support.
