Well having gone thru my 3rd turbo in 2yrs now I am wondering if there are any negative consequenses to plugging off the ebp valve with regards with turbo lubrication? I am getting real good at taking the turbo off and on now. I am thinking I may have done something wrong. .
Thanks for any comments or advice,
Roy
maybe you should try the non-ebpv pedestal? I used this pedestal on my Excursion for 3 years with no problems, I've had the modified stock pedestal on my F-250 for 8 years with the van turbo as well. So, I'm not sure what went wrong with yours - but at least with the non-ebpv pedestal you remove that variable.
thanks for the suggestion. I am leaning toward that solution. But here is the deal, The last time it went was last September. Pulled it took, took it back to the shop and they said bearing/seal failure was caused by contaminated oil. So I get an OA done of course, comes back perfect. The only thing that was above specs was high copper(turbo bearing). Then they say ,oh that is a performance turbo no warranty. WTH! Any who, they rebuild it now it is gone 4 months later.
I have not rebuilt a turbo or have a lot of hands one experience with them, but if I need to I will do the job myself. It seems like you should go the same route, time permitting of course. I would highly suggest not taking it to the "shop" and do the repair/rebuild yourself so you know it is done right.
Look for this guy on ebay or call his number. He's a straight shooter with info, or he'll sell you the parts to do it yourself, or he'll do the rebuild...
