Tow Mirror Question

Hello all. I did a search and didn't really find what I needed. I have a 2004 F-250 with the dinky "paddle" type side mirrors. They are power mirrors. I'm looking to upgrade them to the '08-'14 Power, heated, and signal tow mirrors. Would I have any wiring issues as far as having the signal and heat work on them since I only have the paddle type right now? I know they bolt right up I just want to make sure I don't need anything else electrical. Please let me know. Thank you.

My '05 XLT EX came with the power heated no signal paddle mirrors, when I upgraded to the '08+ tow mirrors from 1AAuto.com all of the functions worked, power, heat and signals right out of the box. The new mirrors came with a pigtail jumper adapter wire to mate the dissimilar plugs, was a plug and play installation!

If they are power your good there. The turn signals in the tow mirrors started in 03 I believe so you should have the wire already ran to the door even if you don't use it with the paddle mirrors. The only one you might be missing is the wires for heat. Still an easy swap. I run 2013 mirrors on my early 99. Had to run wires out for the turn signals and heat but it works great. I know I have seen some adapters guys have used. Might want to just try a Google search.

Thank you. I appreciate the help. I found a good deal on a set and just don't want to pass them up.

If anyone is curious, these are the type of mirrors I'm running now. They are just power with no heat or signal...

I put a pair of 2014 OEM mirrors on my 2003 that had paddle style power mirrors. As far as fitment goes, the only thing that you have to do is drill a hole in your door for the alignment tab or cut the tab off. Wiring is a little different. There are forums and you tube videos for correct wiring. You will have to add wire for lights, signals, and aftermarket switch for defrost. I have not wired these yet, waiting for warmer weather. I used the connecter from my old mirrors to connect. When wired correctly up and down is correct. Left is right and right is left. To fix this change wires at motor in mirror. Again there are videos to do this. Quick google search. But, really how often do you adjust your mirrors? I am not taking the chance of braking mirror housing to flip a couple of wires. These mirrors are fantastic!! There is a reason they are called TOW MAX mirrors. Look on ebay for them. Mine were RV take offs and I picked them up for $96.00 for the pair. There are plug and play versions that are out there but more costly.

Wertzy,

Your 04 (probably) doesn't have the round plug. My 03 did not, it had the rectangle plug. I switched it out with the 2014 plug to match my OEM harness. Again the new mirrors are worth any and all hassle.
