To My Flapless Brothers EUREKA

You guys might know this, but for a lack of finding it I did my own research..

OK, so I looked high and low, I really wanted some mud flaps for the WarX, I kept reading all of the threads...and it came to either they don't make them or they are not available..

So, in electronics 99% of the parts are interchangeable if you do low level component repair, and the actual few manufacturers of TV, Radios, etc, just brand stuff for other people..

Well I started searching for the Husky Liners, simply because they have a lifetime replacement guarantee... Think about it Lifetime..Well how can they offer lifetime if they don't stock the item any longer ??

Simple, just like car manufacturers don't make all of their parts and just like FORD will use the same doors in different years...So does Husky..

So if you have Flares and You need Mud Guards for you X, after looking for weeks at a time I found out that Part Number 56481 thou no longer available is actually "Part Number 57211"...

This Item FITS our X with Fender Flares for the FRONT!!!
Now I wish I could post pictures...BUT THEY DO WORK !!!! I now have front mud flaps...I can now die happy...

Do you *want* mud flaps or are you required by your state to have them?

Personally I hate 'em but wonder if you'd still put them on if they aren't required.

Thanks guys, I am working on making instructions and tips, while mocking them up I was pleased how they look. It will take time as the snow , apartment living and the lack of a roof over my head hampers my work...

I also added a safety lip to avoid rubbing....will post pics soon, after this one I think I should just pull the trigger and pay...a pic is better than words..

I'm dong research to see what to do for the back flaps...

The guards had no hardware in the box, I did notice that one fo the predilled holes on the guard matched the truck, that being the one with the metal screw, The other hole on top the one with the plastic phillips head the hole has no thread, so I have to figure out how to either use a plastic rivet, or get a plastic expansion with a SS screw....for the bottom part I decided I will drill a small hole on the plastic flare far bottom that flares out and use a plastic rivet.

That would give me 2 good strong location and the bottom one just to keep it tights I also added a lip for a tighter fit..

Its so cold I am afraid to mess with it right now, it was 50 today, but its gonna snow on monday, and plastic tends to crack if its cold...

I used a door guard edge to protect the paint on the flare, it gives it a real nice fit, and no rubbing once all screwed in...The edge guard goes all the way up the bottom...

Done Front

So the weather was good today so I decided to install the front guards, 64 today tomorrow Snow...Yes, summer and winter back to back.

All hardware is either SS or Plastic, with a coat of Rust-O-Leum for good measure...also all screws have a coat of grease also for good measure...Did I mentrion I hate SNOW. SALT and RUST... to the point that I refuse to go to work during or right after a snow fall.....

I added a strip of 3M double sided tape to help on the install...

On the bottom of each guard two hole were made for drainage..

No fenders were harmed on this installation...However I did expand the hole of the plastic Phillips rivet to place the larger plastic expansion the small expansion got attached to the plastic fender cover. And yes more paint on the expanded hole for good measure...
