Unhappy Bushwacker discontinued dent side fender flares.

They still make those ugly cut out flares, but discontinued the extendafender flares at the end of 2008, unknowingly to us. I like the pocket flares on newer trucks but not on the 73-79s. I called bushwacker and no luck, other than directing me to two other parts suplyers who are not willing to even check the computer for any leftover sets because I "dont have a valid part #". "WELL DUH! I told you it was discontinued!" So anyway I know someones got to have a set or two lying around just not sure how to find them. Summit racing still has them listed but are sold out. Nothing currently on ebay either. Anyone have any ideas or good lines on a set? Can be used but only if still in like new condition, for a show truck. I need these things since I painted the flame job on my truck using those dimentions. The big ugly cut outs will mess up the flow of my 7 layer flame job. Need some help here, thanks guys. The part # for the set of 4 is 020900-01.

The part number is in his first post. Or if you click on my link there is another part number for individual peices. Either number pulls them up in Summit as well.

no good

I just checked and the first part number has been out of stock for almost 2 years!

The part number from the craigslist ad worked but they show as Discontinued!

I asked my rep to go check the warehouse and he said he will call me back. I wouldnt hold my breath but who knows!

I will post back tommorrow if he ever calls!

Summit Racing is sold out, I already tried.

So whats with the craigslist ad? Is that the right part#? Or are they for another vehicle? Wonder why it says '76-'79 ford instead of '73-'79? Think theyre the right ones?

Thanks for looking into it for me Dynamic, I appriciate it.

The craigslist ad are the correct ones. Take the part number of the box in the picture and put it into summits site. It comes up as each flare individual and says 73-79 Ford.

Hey Bmarkline,
I found them on JCwhitney site and the part number is 18757G
Not sure if this what you are looking for but I put in the make, model and year and this is what I was told would fit.
Good Luck

I don't really like fender flares or I'd scoop up the ones I posted on the craigslist link, they are local to me. I work in St. Louis. What do they look like on a truck? Could they be used to cover rust? Just wondering. Don't worry they sure aren't going on my truck.

I am considering flares for my 78 as I just changed to a different wheel tire combo, and they stick out a bit further then I would like. What are the differences between the two? Anybody have any comparison pics?

Truck add ons is a no go. JC Whitneys universal rubber ones isnt really what I was after, but the heavy duty rubber ones might still look better than bushwackers cut outs.

Why don't you just buy the ones on craiglist? They are half price of new so you can offer him a good chunk of change to ship. You can confirm the application by putting the part number in on Summit's site or do you think they are not what you are looking for?

I dont have any pics, but the extenda fenders stick out 1.75" from the top of the fender, and the cutouts are like 3". Plus the cut outs have that "pocket flare" look and go all the way up to the "dent" body line, where as the extenda fenders are smooth and still have room between the flare and the body line. Plus you dont have to cut out all that sheet metal. But since they dont make them anymore, no need to worry about that decision haha

Yeah, I know. I saw somebody with a set of flares on here that I thought looked really good. They were the cut outs, I have never liked them. These were very tame and I thought flowed well with the body. The paint on my 78 is original and pretty nice, and I dont want to start eating it up with stones.
