New hitch

Does any one know if the new YC3Z-17D826-AB hitch comes with hardware? It says its a class III hitch and comes with no hardware i'm hoping that's a typo.

Try calling up your Ford parts counter.

I called white bear lake and they were the ones who told me that is was a class III hitch with no hardware and it seems as though most peole that replaced them got the hard ware with it and its a 12500# hitch which is not class III. Hoping maybe somebody had done it recently and had the same info i did and it was wrong. Also that is what shown on fordparts.com but the part number is the one listed in some posts here and is the 12,500# hitch.

Have you checked out Curt? they now make a hitch for the X. I got mine from Auto Anything for around $150 I think. it is a class IV and comes with all the hardware. rated for 12k lbs.

thank you i wish i had known about the curt one. looks pretty similar and a whole lot cheaper. Wanted to get it on order this morning so i can replace it next week i'll be pulling a new travel trailer abot 700 miles and the old hitch looks like crap. Trying to swap vehicles around when your away from your residence is a pain.

Just want to chime in and say that a year or so ago there was talk about hitches here and a conversation about using OEM vs Aftermarket hitches and I think specifically Curt.

I need to get a new hitch this year and spend MONTHS last year researching the Curt one because the last thing I needed was for the damn thing to break when I'm towing 7-9k down the road.

The only failures I could find on the curt receivers was when it was some kind of non OEM setup where designs were made to avoid exhaust pipes and what not. The curt direct bolt ons that go on the Excursions and Super Duties don't appear to have any issues. I'm going to order one as soon as Amazon has them in stock again and replace my 'stretched' one.

Check it out.

I installed the Curt on my 01 Ex about 90 days ago. I got mine on Amazon, I think about 230ish. You will likely need to drop the tank, as I did. Half of my welded nuts broke loose and had to be cut off. That made me switch to 3/4 inch hardware since I couldn't source the metric stuff I needed locally. It was time consuming but very straight forward. I cutting torch would have saved me half the time. I drilled, tapped, and silicone a hole in the top of mine so I could re-use the factory plug bracket. Fit was perfect.... have only towed my 7K dump trailer since the install, but definitely happy with it. My factory hitch had 3 holes rusted through it...... ahhh, the joys of living in New England
