Thanks for your help rla2005. I bypassed the WABS with jumper wires and it had no effect on the shifting/speedo/odometer. So I am really thinking the PSOM is no good. Weather should be better tomorrow so I plan on pulling it out and testing it. Hope I can find a issue that I can fix and get to driving my toy! Do you have any pics of weak points in the PSOM I need to check/repair? Thanks again.
Holy cow! It looks like that truck was under water at some point in time.....salt water
You can usually find a PSOM at a junkyard. If you are really good at soldering you could swap over the original EPROM but from the looks of it..it's toasted.
The PSOM holds the odometer mileage and the calibration constant. The Calibration value is used to compensate for different sized tires and rear axles (Ford 8.8" vs. Sterling 10.25"). That can be re-calibrated as well.
WOW ! Was there any other damage to the cluster?!?!!? Leaking windshield?
No. I believe the problem came about because the drivers window was down the whole time it was in storage. No rain has fallen on the truck in over a year.
