Does anybody have a good source for a 0-100 PSI Fuel Pressure Sensor to replace the crappy one Glowshift sells? This is the only thing I hate about Glowshift. I have had zero issues with the boost and pyro gauges, as well as the fuel pressure gauge for that matter; just the pressure sensor. I've gone through 4 or 5 and none of them have lasted much longer than a few months. Just wondering if anybody else has had the same experience and if there is better sensor I can get that will work with the gauge. According to GS, the sensor is 0-100 PSI and 10-180 ohms.
Glowshift stuff is not highly regarded by some folks due to bad experience relating to reliability. However, any brand could have problems with the "water hammer" effect of trying to read the pressure from our OBS fuel pump. Unlike an electric pump, the piston-style mechanical pump on our engines is brutal to fuel gauges.
To tame the beast, I recommend going to the hardware store and buying a $20-$40 needle valve. Install the needle valve so that fuel flows through it before it reaches the fuel pressure gauge and, if it's electric, its sender. After installing it, just close the valve and start the engine. Then, very slowly open the valve until the proper fuel pressure reading is observed, but without the pulsating needle effect. Not only is the gauge easier to read, it will last much longer than if it had to put up with that hammering it otherwise has to put up with from our engines.
