I have blown the intercooler boots, spyder boots etc. and found by cleaning them and tightening the clamps carefully solved the problem.
Now the other day there was a "soft" pop as I was making boost. Not the usual loud noise when a boot goes.
I checked it all out and re did a few clamps. Thinking I had it taken care of I drove again to only find it is still leaking. It is able to put 10psi on the gauge but sounds like a major leak.
A little research has me looking at the intake plenums next. I will build a leak tester and am sure to find the big swoosh.
What have you guys done to keep the intake plenums sealed up? I am stock I believe with a e99 spyder.... If that helps.

Did you upgrade to the billet 3" plenums, or the 8 bolt SD plenums?
You might have crushed the plenums under boost, and the boot isn't sealing with the plenum right. I read that the updated plenums work better with the e99 spyder.
So does that mean we have to switch over to 97 heads?
They were found in the SD section, but under application year, there was 94.5-97
So I'm a little confused.
Some of the older OBS heads were an 8 bolt design, apparently some made it on to 96's, but my 96 has a 10 bolt plenum. You'll have to take a look at your truck and determine if each plenum has 8 or 10 holes for bolts in it.
If it does.. then the SD plenum will work on it, but not with the stock/E99 turbo setups. In order for OBS/E99 trucks to run 3" riffraff plenums (as far as I know), you gotta either have a T4 setup/equivalent, or have a super duty setup with taller pedestal, otherwise the compressor housing bumps the plenum.

I am going with the S366 T4 setup. So I'm not worried about that part. I'm just wondering if I need to get newer heads to accommodate the billet plenums from clay. Sorry, I'm not trying to hijack the thread here.
I can't say for sure but I was under the impression that the remaining 8 bolts were in the same spots as the 10 bolt setup. I'm sure someone knows. Clay will
Yep, they are in the same spot but that leaves you with an extra open bolt hole. We can make them for the 8 bolt, but you would have to email us for more info.

Thanks Clay! I'll E-mail you about it here in a few weeks. The price is still the same?
