another feedback carb question
I blew it this time. I was trying to increas my mechanical advance by swapping the slots in my distributor. I made terrible oversight. I failed to conclude that it would make my truck 180 out.

I tried and tried to crank it. It backfired through my new carb befor I figured out what I had done.
It blew the flange gasket and started leaking gas. I decided to change the manifold gasket thinking it may be compromised also. It was leaking exhaust where it bolts together anyway. Well I rolled it. I tried to use it anyway because the parts store was closed and its my daily driver.
It runs, just not as good. It stumbles on acceleration espically off idle. I guess a vacuum leak. I was holding 18hg now 17hg.
I guess I'm just venting. I havent been this disgusted with myself or this truck in a long time. I guess I'll get it sorted.
If it's any consolation (I know it's not)....I have to take my passenger's side exhaust manifold off, to remove & replace broken hot-air intake shield bolts, then re-install it.
Goodbye Saturday morning...........if I don't break any more bolts
