You need to keep in mind at what RPM your engine reaches peak torque and HP. The 300 reaches its peak at significantly lower RPM's (around 2300) whereas the majority of the V8's don't get there until 2700-2900. That may not seem like much but it makes a huge difference when you start doing the exponential calculations for axle gearing.

now with that said. if you plan on only running 33's and you have a 5.8 I would suggest 4.10s or even 4.56 if for some reason 35's end up under your ride. I run 4.88's with 35's and with the OD its perfect in my opinion.
Yes I do have the 5.8 and 33s so I will consider regearing it to 4.10

4.10:1 with 33's will give you dang close to stock 3.55:1 on stock tires.
