The heat shield type manifold gaskets were started in mid year 1958 and was explained in a TSB (tech serv bulletin) and the update was because of high heat temp in the tilt cab trucks. We all know about the poor oiling and add that with the high heat and it was a terrible combination. I have the TSB somewhere.

I would not expect that Mummert's manifolds will need to be surfaced when brand new. It's always a good idea to check them, though.
Copper gaskets aren't original so there is not a part number. I used to see them on eBay.
