Fuel line problem

Fuel line problem

1988 f250 4x4 5 speed 7.5L 460. I bought this truck 3 weeks ago as a project. It runs and I drove it 160 miles home. The problem is that it was an EFI and he converted it to a Holly carb. I'm ok with the carb but not the way it is plumbed. The rear tank is plumbed with a single line to a after market inline pump mounted to the frame ( he cut the pump off the in tank sending unit) and a single line to the carb. I'm installing new in tank pumps and all new fuel lines to the resevoir/selector. I don't know how to plumb past the resevoir as I am not using the high pressure pump. What do I do with the return line on the engine side of the resevoir ? Most of the original fuel lines are missing so it's hard to figure out the routing. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks

As far as the fuel tank selector reservoir you do not need it. Just replace it with a fuel tank selector solenoid valve and run the lone wire to one of the tank fuel pumps.

Wire it something like this:

There is no "T". Just a single line from pump to carb. I want to do it as correct as possible.

I guess I'm dumb. Why would I use a selector valve if I'm only powering one tank?

As I said above just run one pressure line from each tank to the solenoid tank selector valve and a line from there to the Carb.

To keep it from pumping into the other tank.

The one you have now is also a selector valve but it may cut the pressure down to much and may leak out of the other nipples.

I think I understand, your saying use a three port selector and do away with the return lines. correct?
