Title says it all, makes me sick it happen Truck is only 3 months old. 5th year plowing and this is the FIRST time I have ever damaged my truck, of course is has to be on a brand new truck!
Happened while plowing. So much for the rear view camera and senors lol .
So......who has a part number for the tailgate with Camera and NO step?
Thanks! looks like $317.00 form autonation Ford. I am surprised it's not more.
EDIT: I take it the tailgate assist has to be taken from the old one and put into the new one as well? Easy to do?
Yes, camera is still fine! Got any instructions on how to remove it?
Un bolts from the back side. I had the step gate. $1,000 bucks wholsale plus painting. Ouch. I have the Platinum. Luckly the satin pieces weren't damamged.
Call around to some auto salvage places. Upfitters sometimes remove boxes and tailgates from new trucks, might be able to save some time/money going that route. Local body shops might be able point you in a direction, insurance company's offen source used parts like tailgates. Did this when my tailgate grew legs on my last truck, got it done for less than my insurance deductible of $500.

If you bring a body shop a like new tailgate I wouldn't pay more than $175 or so. I paid about a $100 bucks with mine 6-7 years ago, but took the time ( half hour tops ) to pull the trim and handle.
That sucks but it's a truck. Things happen when you're trying to get the job done.
I would just live with it for a while.
My truck is new too but I had to back my work trailer into a loading dock at Arkansas children's hospital last week, they forced me into a very tight space and I had to rub my passenger side running board against a yellow pole. Just the way it is....
Hey FX4, sorry about the dent. I would be bummed too !
Guess it adds some character to your truck.
don't sweat it, it's just a truck and you can fix it !
Keep on plowing
