Hello all! I am a new owner of a 79 f150 4wd inline 6. It had been sitting inside for 5-6 years not running. It was a plow truck for a factory for the last 30. I've been repairing a lot of items that were not essential for plowing to get it road ready. Had my maiden voyage today. Things were going well until I tried to start it at my parents house. Cranked but no fire. Also had the oil light come on and stay on without the key even on. No spark. Cleaned the distributor and rotor. After playing with connections it seemed to pop/ wheeze backfire as soon as I stopped cranking. I replaced the main battery ground and a bunch of other suspicious connections. It now starts but appears to only fire as soon as I stop turning to key. Any thoughts? Ignition control module? Ignition coil? Just noticed my rear axle seals are leaking too. Thanks
