not starting

ok, i drove to a friends house, everything went fine. we did some running around and went back to his house. no i went to start my 79 and all it does is crank. when i let go of the key it sounds like it is about to start but nothing happens. all my electrical is fine, i am getting fuel in my carb, but nothing is happening. any opinions out there? do you thing ignition module, coil, cap and rotor???? please help. i don't want to have to drive my wifes chevy around!!!!

not starting

Mine did the same thing yours is doing. I replaced both the coil and the module. I haven't had any problems since. Hope that helps you out and keeps you from driving a C*#@y.

not starting

when i let go of the key it sounds like it is about to start but nothing happens.

OK take a wire from the battery to the + side of the coil and see if it starts.
Sometime there's a fuseable link that burns out.

well, i just wanted to let you all know, i went back to my truck and i pulled mu coil wore off to see if i have spark and it fired right up....go figure. well i plan on getting all new ignition stuff for it, thx for the help
