EFI Exhaust Manifold Swap - Y-Pipe Options?
Hey guys,
I have a ’79 F250 with a 300 I6 that I’m swapping over to the fuel injection style split exhaust manifolds.
I’m trying to figure out what options I have for Y-pipes for this setup. So far the only options I’ve been able to come up with are using the Walker Y-pipe PN: 45166 or have an exhaust shop bend me up a custom Y-pipe.
I like the price point of the Walker unit, but the crinkled bends bother me. I’d like to avoid having to trailer the truck to an exhaust shop to have the Y-pipe built.
Let me know if there are any other options I’m overlooking. The truck is not required to pass emissions testing.
Thanks

Thanks Baron,
Since I don't need to pass any emissions testing I'll probably stray away from the factory setup. Most everything up here would probably be corroded beyond recognition from road salt anyways.
Thanks for the suggestion though. Open headers would be a possibility to go to the exhaust shop, but a y-pipe with a muffler clamped on temporarily would make life a lot easier for doing any initial tuning. I'll be pulling the engine for freshening, installing C-series, new carb, etc at the same time and would like to hear more than open exhaust to get it going again.

The Magnaflow option is expensive, but has no "crinkled bends". Unfortunately, they do not seem to offer just the head pipe. It comes with catalytic convertor.
