I have a transmission that I bought that didn't fit my 97 F250HD. I know it's for a small block and has more sensor connectors than mine did.
I need to find out what this transmission is and what it came from so I can hopefully track down the guy who sold it to me, or try selling it myself to get it gone.
It has a metal tag attached to it but some of the lower numbers are no longer there.
This is what's left: 1C (very large) XL7P-AA
PRB-BF1
00082016
??-9F07
Then on one side it has: RFFS1P-7006-AA
Then other side it has: RF-XL3P-7A040
Any help with this would be great and can anything inside this tranny be useful in my E40D transmission, because my salvaged one is already giving me problems.
The secret identifier is the turbine speed sensor. The E4OD doesn't have one.
You can install a 4R100 in place of an E4OD. There is a mod that needs to be done in the pump body or the converter lockups will be VERY firm. You can run it with the firm lockups if you prefer.
I finally made it over to my local Ford dealer yesterday to find out what it came out of.
The numbers come up that it is for a '99 Expedition w/5.4 liter engine.
I had him check to see if it also would fit a F150 5.4 liter, but it came up with different numbers.
Is it that important that it goes into only one model?
