Ok, i am lost and my budget is going downhill fast, after ordering the rd2-90 and a cam shaft no core...they grew legs....:-( , i was gonna rebuild my 093, then after further research i seenthe chra i was looking at to build it with on ebay was a Chinese knock off and i dont know of i wanna chance it, soooooo with the ats093 kit what if any turbo will bolt to the flange and still give me decent boost, yes heads are studded
Ok...i have been reading this site alot and THINK i have it figured out, and i stress think, i seen where typ4 was upgrading the 093 with a 60-1 wheel so i thought i would see if i could find a 60-1 wheel and housing and came across a turbo with the specs below, other than its not waste gated what do yall think

T3/60-1 turbo
Intake: 3 inch
Inlet: 2.5 inch

Turbine Wheel diameter: 61.37 /69.86
Exhaust Trim: .63ar
Turbine flange type : T3 flange
Down pipe flange type: 4 bolt
Cooling type: oil cool only
Horsepower rating: 400-500
Exhaust housing would be a bit small unless its undivided. I could be off, but without a reference the wheels seem a little on the undersized side as well. Justin does wheel upgrades as well, id check the "idi turbocharger thread" i remember him finding a wheel compatable with the 088/093 that would be a little better suited to an IDI than the 60-1
Im guessing that turbo above was designed / sized around a gas 4cyl engine.
You don't want a .63 AR, especially if the wheels are small. Your exhaust back pressure would be insane. Get in touch with Justin about a stock rebuild or an upgraded rebuild of your 093 if you are on a budget. Any turbo that is cheaper than Justin's base rebuild will almost surely be a pile 'o $h*+ and will perform below the stock turbo. If you decide to upgrade later, you won't have any problem re-selling a rebuilt 093 charger...
Well i took apart my spare 093, its in good shape, cept the wheels are junk, gonna buy a new tubine wheel and shaft, refurb kit, wicked wheel II, put together the center section, take it to my local turbo shop and balanced, and gonna wack of the 2 1/2 outlet and put a 3" flange on it
