Hey guys, the push rod for my slave cylinder has almost popped off the clutch pedal several times in the past couple weeks. Does anybody know the part number for it or where to find one?
It seems like a couple of the plastic ears that hold it on are broken off.
I'm talking about the little plastic stick with a hole in one end that runs from the end of the clutch pedal shaft (between the gas and brake pedal) through the firewall. There is a sensor attached to it, I'm assuming this is the safety thing so the truck can't be started without the clutch engaged.
I'm not absolutely sure about the plastic pushrod master cylinders, but for the metal ones, you can just purchase the little four fingered retaining bushing in the HELP section of most auto parts stores.
It comes in a $3.99 assortment of windshield wiper linkage bushings, #49447.
... at least that's where I got mine.
No way I'm paying Ford $12 for ONE.
