To be honest, I wouldn't pay anyone to do it. It'll cost a lot of money cause a mechanic is gonna scare you and tell you the cab has to come off and in fact it doesn't. As long as you have a sawzall, it's a cake walk! It took me 5 hours to remove everything. Installing the block off plates and reinstalling what I removed it an hour job or so. Use youtube while doin this task if you're not familiar with all the parts the 6.4 has on it.
I've got a sawzall and I'm not afraid to use it! I'll check out what you tube has and come up with a plan for skinning this cat. I'll be interested to see how the engine performs with all the EGR stuff removed. THANKS!
Well as soon as my intake elbow comes in, I'll let you know. I read that it will build boost faster and increase fuel mileage. I'm guessing because it'll be able to release exhaust faster. That egr is BS!!! Especially after you complete a DPF! It used to need it to reduce exhaust temps while the DPF is present but once it's deleted then it's useless. And when the EGR valve gets build up and sticks, you have no power. I work in the mountains and I had to put my truck in 4 low to creep up hills and get home!
There is a couple good videos on you tube that will help you, watch first gather tools, squirt some penetrating fluid on a couple of bolts a few days in advance, shouldn't be an issue.
