About a week ago I brought some front suspension parts to my house to put in my tumbler to clean them up. At one point I opened the tumbler to see how they were doing and came to the conclusion I was missing a part. I looked all over trying to find it but with about a foot of snow on the ground I didn't hold much hope. I found this picture on another site and if it's one of the members here, thanks! I see his set up only had one, so I figured mine probably did too and I wasn't missing one after all. So the question is, what is it, what function does it perform? Thanks for any help.
Ha!! yeah that would be helpful huh? 70 F250 camper special, 390, PS, PB, and discs. I know the part sits on top of where the radius arm and the axle bolts together but I'm unsure as to what it does and why there is only one.
Thanks Ultra, I kinda thought it might be a spacer but I wasn't sure why it wouldn't have one on both sides. And just to be clear that's not my pic just one I found on another site.
Thanks to both HIO and ultra, after doing some more searching I believe this is just a shim to make the truck sit level and the reason why I would only have one. Thanks guys! p.s. HIO, if you look on the 70 - 72 diagram you will see those straps are in a different place and are flat. (5B300)

Domo arigato Catch-san.....! Thanks for pointing it out. I see it now.
For a spring restrainer strap, I would use the 66-69 strap shown in the photo, as they are much stronger than the 70-72 stamped and nutless weak straps. You will have to find them in the JY as I recommended these to Jeff about 6 months ago for somebody, but nobody has these in stock. I broke one on my 72 F-100 back in the 80's so I replaced it with the early style. Too much pre-runner driving, I guess.

True story Rich. I remember that. I also remembered it as 66/69 but this is what I'm reading.
66/71 F100/F250 (4X2)..before serial #L80,001..upper..C6TZ5B300F.
btw,JUST IN CASE. 67/71 F350..................before serial #M00,001..upper..C7TZ5B300A.)
And as before, nobody is showing that number on the locators.

Instead of "laying frame" it sounds like you're "hanging axle".
