F350 Front drums to disc

F350 Front drums to disc
I have a 1971 F350 Dually with front drums brakes. I want to get rid of the Dually front set up and switch to disc brakes up front.
Are 1971 F250 Camper Special front hub/disc brakes interchangeable with the F350? Are the spindles the same? Are the I beams the same?

I haven't done this swap on an F350 but, I have done it twice on the F100s --on my '69 F100 and on a '72 F100. My suggestion would be to get the entire front discs/suspension from a '75-'79 F350 and swap over everything.
If you locate a factory front swaybar/mounting brackets, the '75-'79 radius arms are configured with a notch at the forward ends that engages with a pin on the endlink brackets to keep the brackets located. '74 back to '65 will not have the provisions for locating the bracket pins. --the front swaybar on my '69 F100 came off of a '78 F250 Camper Special. I have a '77 F100 front suspension with disc brakes.

1968/72 F250 2WD's & F350's were available with optional dual piston caliper front disc brakes, but the calipers used on these trucks were troublesome.
1973 was the first year that F250 2WD's and F350's came standard equipment with disc brakes, but...F250's could have single or dual piston calipers, as it depends on the GVWR
Get the parts from a 1975/79 F350. 1973/74 F250 2WD & F350 used a different front sway bar (mounts differently) than 1975/79.

I can pick up a 71 250 parts truck for cheap and it has discs with dual piston calipers. I was hoping to be able to swap onto my 71 F350.

Thank you for the replies. I did have dual piston calipers on my previously owned trucks, 71 F250 and 72 F350. I wasn’t sure if they were interchangeable.
