Wheel question.

I have been looking at picking up a used set of wheels and tires. I am running a leveling kit that consists of front shackles and a set of 4inch blocks in the back. There are a lot of used wheel and tire sets on craigslist, but many are from the newer trucks. What should/could I look at as far as correct offset and widths that we can run on our trucks that come from the newer style coil sprung front end trucks?

Thanks guys.

Jason, the Excursion guys discuss this topic a lot!

You can use any factory wheel for 2004 and older. The most popular are the 2004 18" special order wheels. They were a 5 spoke design and looks great, they were standard equipment on the King Ranch and Harley editions. Special order for the lariat's.

To go with any 2005 and newer wheel, will require 2" steel hub-centric spacers. They will run you about $700 extra for the spacers, but will ensure you are strong.

Ford didn't do us any justice when they made this change. Your cheapest option is to get an extra set of factory 16's ($200), the 18's will run anywhere from $250/each - $800 for a set as their are desired for their looks and durability.

The Excursion guys can point you in the right direction.

You're not going to find a backspace-correct wheel from an 05-newer F250/350 single rear wheel truck that will work on your 99-03 single rear wheel vehicle without spacers.

However, the best-looking wheel that came on an earlier SuperDuty has to be this:

I was hoping that was not going to be the case. I have been looking at used aftermarket rims, but if they won't work without spacers, i'll keep looking. I agree Cody, those are some great looking wheels. Thank you both.

The ones' Cody showed are the Harley Davidson version, and they were also available in a King Ranch version with painted insets, and a somewhat more plain Lariat version. Here's a pic of the latter:

Yes those are the 04 18" wheels. As stated they are very popular.

I want to continue to run something in the 35" or 315 size tire so stock rims would not be my first choice. Those do look great though.
