Good morning Oregon and everyone everywhere else. Up to 53° now, 100% sky cover chance of rain later today running 10 to 50%. I'm really tempting the rain gawds...washed a car and was thinking about sitting out in front of the farm shop to put the air helpers in. Maybe I should back it in so if it does rain, I won't have an "ah s#%t" moment.

I almost went with some black spoke types, but I just couldn't picture them on the pickup. I think I probably left my "picturing" capability at home. That and they were $90 more.
I'm heading out to do some field work today. Digging in the road looking for really old survey markers. Hopefully, I'll get some pictures and not get run over.
Maybe you could get run over "just a little bit" so you could have the summer off to go camping and fishing while getting paid for it...

That is the one that came real close, but I just couldn't picture a black wheel on my pickup. One outfit showed me a picture of the first wheel mounted on a white pickup. First problem the p/u was a Chebby and it had low profile tires that to me looked ridiculous...and totally useless in my neck of the woods.
The second one only got consideration because the price was at the "bottom end".
Jim, you should have had them throw one on for you. I've had tire shops do that for me.
All 3 tire shops did not have any in stock that would fit my pickup. It was strange that the only rims they seemed to have in stock all started at around $1000 and went up from there. Seemed like they had lots of GM type of stuff in stock, some F150 type stuff but not the "bigger" Ford stuff... Does GM have more problems with their wheels than others?????
Who knows. Awful convient that all they had was the pricey stuff. Maybe they figure they can get the kids with no patience to spend the extra cash, instead of waiting.

I suppose it would not be a far stretch to think that they have tuned their bare "rim" market to kids "tricking" out their vehicles, (the one you find up in the mountains stuck in the mud up to their radiator caps) or the show off class. Working rigs get the "we can order those".
Out of all of the wheels I looked at, including two catalogs I have here from two tire stores, no a one lists a solid wheel. All of them have spokes or holes.
Good afternoon Oregon and everyone everywhere else. In for a quick bite of lunch then off to the shop at the farm. Everything around here got put on hold this morning so "we" could plant some flowers and I had to get some hooks in under the soffit to hang some wind chimes and a flower basket.

The OEM Ford type wheels like what is on my spare tire or what I had on the 87 F250 4X4. Those on the 87 had a plastic hub caps that made them look like "mags".
In fact I still have 3 of the hub caps. Note I said THREE, when it takes four. Right up until the first bump you hit while on a back road goat trail hunting........
