I WAS going to take today off, but.........I'm going to go to work and wait for a personal friend to come up from Portland. She is bringing her father in law over to look at all my old iron. He is a retired machinist and loves to see old machine shop equipment, and he wants to come and take a look around...
Morning guys, been working in the front pasture last couple of days pulling weeds. Plan is to drag it today and spray it sometime this week. Then start the irrigation season. Not sure how long that will last as there is almost no snow on the mountains here.
We shall see, will know more when the season starts. I mean the date when it starts, we normally start around first week in July. If we start in June or earlier will be aggressive.
Good morning Oregon and everyone everywhere else. 40.4 sun shining and a very few high wispy clouds visible. Has the potential to be a very good day.
I may end up recording the race today. Depends on how badly I want to play with the chain saw.
Called the Lowes Service Plan Center last night. The lady told me I was covered and that I should take it to the Customer Service Desk at the Lowes store of my choice and they would send it to the factory warranty center for me. I need do nothing else. It was very pleasant to deal with someone for a change that seemed to "just get'r done" with a smile in her voice.
Next surprise. Got into the Lowe's Store in McMinnville last night. The young lady at the Service Desk seem a little perplexed. She called the manager who came out to the counter. The manager asked me if I would rather just get a new saw. Sounded good. She credited the original purchase price back to my card and I then upgraded some to a Husqvarna Rancher with a touch bigger motor and the 20" bar.

That sounds great!
I've never owned a Husky... They look great and come with praises from people I know who do run them.
Morning Tiny found this marker pretty shot up by persons unknown. Who do you notify to have it replaced? The aluminum tube that it's set in looks like a piece of Swiss cheese.

Found nothing wrong with the rear axle on the 93 Splash...............beautiful gears, barely any wear, no metal shavings of any kind in the bottom of the diff, axle bearings are great.
The "bad sounds" the wife heard is just the slight whine it's always had.

My son had one that seemed to work good.
I've got a 36" Husky that I bought a lot of years ago at a garage sale for $25.00 from a professional tree feller who was retiring. It has had to make a couple of trips to the shop for minor stuff and I had to replace a fuel line on it. It's an antique that should probably be in a museum..........
.......but it does the job when you need something really, really big.
Mess hall project is coming along fine. Should be finished with all the roofing by Wed, then we'll start taking down the rafters and beams. I took those pictures from a huge concrete building across the street. We call it the "bomb shelter". It was made to withstand a 1 megaton blast within half a mile...
