Adding Mirrors with blinkers
Hey guys. Was wondering if it was possible to add factory mirrors with the blinkers on them to my 2014 xl? My mirrors don't have them and I'd like to have them. If so, would anybody know if I could just buy a set and plug them into a harness in the door?

If your mirrors have the black plastic piece where the turn signal light goes you can replace it with one of these. You have to disassemble the mirror to run the wires to your turn signals. There is a nice write up on doing it somewhere in this forum or over at the F150Forum.

I've wondered that myself on my 2011 F150. The side mirror's have just a reflector on the side facing the front of the truck. I'd rather have that be a working "Turn Signal". Maybe that came in a different package

I just found what we're talking about at www.lmctruck.com and part numbers 47-4036 or 47-4037 for $69.95 for the pair. Difference is a smoked or not smoked.

The LMC ones are cheaper but I can't tell if they look the same as the Recon ones when they aren't lighted. Here's a link directly to the right page for the LMC ones.

I have the Recon ones on my truck, but I chickened out when it came to disassembling the mirrors. So for now I could have gotten away with the cheaper black inserts to get rid of the orange plastic.

You can make yours into blinking signals for about $25. I did mine, there's a write up somewhere. Get some LEDs from AutoZone or Advance auto and its a mater of cutting out the back side of the reflector and splicing the wires together, then reinstall. I'll have to look for the link, or search blinker mod

Does your truck have the "Turn Signal" under the mirror (facing you if your in the truck)?
If so, then I would think those wires would be there.Unk Bob

Nope. It's an xl model. Im adding my own touches to make it more as I go. Just added raptor headlights and tail lights, doing a Raptor grille conversion and some more things. I think I'm going to paint the deletes to match my truck and it'll add a small touch of detail instead of just black plastic
