Well my understanding is that we would be buying them in sets of 2, but as long as we have an even number of buyers there isn't an issue. Also there is one other issue I will be sending you a PM about that will play a factor into this.

I'm a fan of #8 with the backdoor option from #7.

If that's not possible #7.

I think David has done a great job making up these various examples here and as always Apoc is a real trooper doing the leg/phone work with Billet Badges! With that said I am not in on this GB, if I do get a set (I have been kicking the idea around for over 2 years now.....) it will be custom and unique to my rig. I just hope that all the folks "voting" here fully understand the total cost involved in these really awesome badges. I'd hate to see the voting get skewed by a bunch of folks who aren't going to pony up the cash when it's time to make this happen.
I don't mean to be a Debbie Downer, just trying to be a realist here.

I probably missed it but what is the actual $$$$ we'd be looking at? I would be down for #3 depending on price of course.

Is there a Poll option on the forum? I didn't pay any attention to the votes so what's the current tally?

Tom, this is an excellent post because I had assumed a ballpark cost (range) but hadn't considered how much they might actually cost.

Apoc, did they give an approximate cost for these bad boys?

Yes she did, but it wasn't a very precise one. We need a little more info before I submit everything to her though for first pricing though. She told me there was about a 24-48 hour turn around on the quote for me and she would be doing it herself. I'm assuming that we are going with the 2.5" Rectangular Domed Face Unfinished Badges correct? I also am assuming that since our rigs are somewhat large we are wanting the 8.75 inch length correct? The normal pricing is $65 each so if we did all 3 it would be $195 per person. The GB I would assume would take around 10% off and the BB possibly up to 25%. So that is an extremely rough estimate, however it makes it much easier to say "I'm in" or "see ya later" with a somewhat stable price in place.

All we need is to get a real number of buyers (I'm out BTW) and then pick a design. The design will not be set in stone. I can send it in, they can review it and get us a quote and we can either say yes or no, simple as that. Really all we need to do at this time is count up who is ready to put up and who is ready to shut up and then get this rolling. USCG, you let me know what design you want submitted and how many people want in and I'll get the ball rolling

Thanks for the update!

I'm going to try to participate in the group buy whether I like it or not. Though there are some badges that I wouldn't go for at all.
I kinda wanna get an extra set to sell

Not trying to make the decision any harder but has anyone considered contacting a machine shop that has a laser cutter. May be a less expensive option. That said I like style #1
