This might be a dumb question but I see trucks where they aren't lifted much and the tires look like they are out so wide. Idk how to explain it. They look like the front and rear end are wider than the rest of the vehicle aND sticks out farther. Andybody have an idea of what this is or how to make my truck look like that? I assume it's some type of extensions for the front and rear end

It usually is the result of wheels with less offset than stock, and sometimes those are wider wheels to boot.

More here:

Watch what you do in this department. Too much negative offset, which will result in the "wheels out" look, can cause bearing issues and handling issues like twitcy steering and difficulty controlling the vehicle during hard braking or if you blow a tire up front.

No I've seen Tahoe look like that and some other vehicles. I think it's wheel spacers

Could be spacers but that usually only buys you an inch or two. Changing the offset and rim width will really set you up with a wide stance. The factory rims are 6" wide with a +44 offset so you could go crazy with a 12" rim and a - 30 offset and really stick those sneakers out of the wheel wells

- Some states require wheels & tires to remain within the wheel wells, or they ticket/fine you.

- I thought those "extended" wheels caused extra wear on the wheel bearings?

I think I read that somewhere. And if u think about it that makes sense. They don't make spacers for my truck anyway because it seems like my truck is the only one with 7 lugs.

Yes some states do require the tires to be inside the wheel wells. If you have 7 lugs you have a heavy half just like I do. I love mine!!

Yep sure is. I did see some on eBay. I think I am just going to blast my stock steel rims and powder coat them black.

That's what I did to mine I painted them matte black with this stuff called plastodip I got it at pep boys for about 5 dollars a can. It stays on great but if u don't want it or like it u put a nick in it and it peels off like tape. It's good stuff
