I have a 96 5.0 with E4OD trans and my problem just started. The trans shifts fine but when I slow down its like the trans downshifts hard, only once each time I slow down. When this happens I can feel the gas petal move, I know this sounds crazy. Any body got any ideas????

My SWAG* is that you have a broken motor mount.

*SWAG = Silly Wild A__ Guess.

 

start with the basics, when was the trans fluid/filter changed last?

Pull codes?

 

Check the drivetrain parts, as Mark said, engine/transmission mounts, and the rear driveshaft. If all that checks, retrieve codes. Does the trans operate normally apart from that issue?.
