I've had that great GM feeling a few times. Doubt I will ever own another.
But, people should drive what they like. My poor experience with GM is just that. One person's poor experience. GM, Ram, and Ford all look great these days. Drive what you like and enjoy. Pictures would be nice.
I also don't feel that just because I selected a Ford, it's my job now to sell all others a Ford. Occasionally, I read threads here from members that are looking to be convinced to stay with Ford. Move on. It's okay. Drive what makes you happy and again, post a few pictures.
I understand there will be issues....I with help from friends can at least turn a wrench on the Silverado....The Ford SuperDuty my wrench turning was limited. I will just hope for the best.....I would like to share this with the members......I am having no real luck at this time trying to find a decent .......Chevy Forum.....have found a few .....but posting subjects and member input is lacking. To all members be please thankful for what you have here in this forum......You have made it a great place. So far I have not found another Forum ....that comes even close to this place.....
Good luck with the new truck. I am on the Duramax forum and they are a great bunch of guys. I know you said you didn't have a diesel, but I'm sure you will find a good forum to help with your truck questions.
You're not the only one that doesn't own a blue-oval product that visits this site. I share my RAM experiences with these members if they have any questions about that. Always good to share information as many vendors seem to use the same parts across different manufacturers (Bosch components, Delphi Components, etc...).
I also have to say, I keep coming back to this forum because of the open-minded and more objective view of the members of this forum .
You are absolutely right on the open minded attitude here. Opinions/Comments are accepted positive or negative.
Can't say the same about the Heartland or RV.net forum....
I'm with y'all. My SD is perfect for me and what I need from a vehicle, mostly business use with added benefit of towing around my 5th wheel camper. But that in no way means it's right for anyone else. It helps that I have access to a good dealer, this is probably key and a fact that big ford really should know, the dealer has more to do with owner satisfaction than any other.
I just draw the line when someone makes the leap from being critical of the vehicle to being critical of people who choose to own them.

You won't find a better forum than this one. I don't think I've ever told anyone this but I still own 5 Chevys! ('84&'87 K5 Blazers, '85 Vette, '89 C1500 and an '01 8.1L CC 4WD dually) I am a member of several forums, from Chevy, Ford and even Honda, and NONE comes anywhere close to this one. This has the most down-to-earth people I've ever met. They will help on any topic presented. Just because you no longer own a Ford, don't worry. Stop on by anytime!

Try and ask a question over at the Cumminsforum.com.... There's quite a few over there that will attack with no mercy if you ever bring up the Power Stroke and Duramax description. In addition they seam to always compare their trucks to the Super Duty.... Wonder why?

Good luck in your new ride! I personally love GM products, I have owned 4 GM/Chevy trucks and one was a Dmax. I have always owned GM products including my '69 Vette and '87 Buick GN.
I have always loved the Ford SD's and when it was time that's what I bought. My brother in law bought a 2015 1500 and it's really nice and his brother just bought a 2015 Dmax..... Both are nice trucks and u do like them both...... Of course I bought hell from my family for buying a Ford but is all in fun.
I find something's GM does better than Ford and vice versa. For example the instrument cluster and info provided on the GM blows Ford away in my opinion. However I like my truck to feel like a truck and the Ford does it for me.
Good luck on your new ride, it should do everything you need it to!
