Thats one thing working on the cab that I noticed is I dont think the cab is a 51 it has back cab corners like a 53. Im not to concerned about the title I know the previous owner hes just an older guy and any issues getting the title he will assist with.
I am really puzzled where you keep coming up with '53. Nothing about that truck says 1953.
You have a 1951 F 1 The tag is on the firewall. A late 1951 and 1952 the tag is on the glove box door . The number you want is on the right front frame on the top . Use some emery cloth or sand paper to find it . It's not stamped very deep. Texas is not hard to get a title. Now, about those front springs, are they in good shape, ? If so I would be interested in them, thanks.

Actually, that pic is of the Patent Data Plate on the firewall. The plate on the glove box looks a lot different. But I still think he should find the number on the frame.
Here's my Patent Data Plate. Only the top numbers are stamped in and the rest is painted or silk screened on. It was wiped clean and I had to replace it.
Here's my Glove Box tag. My truck was built in August 1950. Some time after that, the 1951 glove box tags changed.
ONLY the stamp on the frame is the legal serial number, if it matches the rating plate pictured or not doesn't matter rating plates can and often are switched. Only the frame stamp defines the year of the truck, doesn't matter what year the sheet metal is. Don't play russian roulette with your truck, get it titled in your name before you spend another day or dollar on it.

Thanks for the help guys I havent been to work on it in a little bit I will look for the number on the frame see if they match and I am working on title now. Im not real savy on these trucks and dates I was looking at the wrong thing when I said 53.
This is where my frame stamp is located just for a reference. And mine has the 226 6 cylinder, so don't let the old fuel pump confuse you. That's the frame by the right motor mount.
Hey Dgrant,
When we went to get the Title in our name here in Austin. We just had a tag in the glove box with the Vin #. The frame where the Vin# would have been was under our nice welded in IFS. All that was required of us was a $2 Vin Verification Form that any inspection place can fill out. They found the nice tag in the glove compartment & didn't look anywhere else & just filled out the form & faxed it in to the DMV.
In our case we had an out of state title & just needed the VIN verification to complete the process. If I were to do this again I would get the title work done BEFORE doing the Independent front suspension & obliterating the vin on the frame.
