Hi Guys,
My 73 F100 gauges are all sudden reading very high except the amp gauge. I know there is do-hickey on the back of the cluster does anyone know what it's called and will that cause my problem?

The instrument cluster voltage regulator (IVR) regulates voltage to the gauges to something like 5 volts. Failure could cause temp, fuel and OP to read high. It snaps on to the back of the panel with connections like a 9 volt battery. About the size of a thumb tip. Available at most AP stores.... or JY. Once the cluster is out you gently pry the old one out and snap in new. Not hard except the old panel backs can get fragile with time.
Thanks that's what I needed!
When I was driving home the other morning the temp went up and the oil pressure was higher than normal with it being 40 degrees out side, I was thinking the thermostat was sticking until I filled it up and that gauge read high also.
