Left: 1963/64 Falcon/Fairlane, 1965 Mustang before 8/23/64 came with the Eaton P/S pump that has the separate reservoir mounted to the top of it.
Is this what you have?
Right: Or do you have the 1965/66 Ford pump (1967/77 similar) with the steel reservoir made as part of it?

Left: This isn't a very good pic of the P/S pump mounting bracket (3A732), but this is all I could find for 1965 289.
Right: Better pic showing two P/S mounting brackets (3C511 & 3A732).

Found this on the WEB. Mounting is different if you also have A/C.

Thanks for the pictures at least I can see how it mounts. Does anyone know how to tension the belt up?? Once it's bolted in place? Cheers

I believe the bolt that's partially covered by the pully on the bottom is slotted.

Loosen the top mounting bolt and the bolt below it that is covered by the pulley.... CAREFULLY use a prybar between the mounting bracket and the front of the pump housing to pry some tension on the belt. Be careful not to dent the pump housing/res
Also, when you intall the water pump bots, make sure you put sealant on the threads

Hi thanks for the replies my mounting bracket at the bottom doesn't have a slot in it to move it. Just a hole to bolt it still.
