Steering wheel noise
I have a 2002 Ford F250 and recently had new ball joints,hub and bearings and locking hubs put on and now I have noticed when turning the steering wheel sounds like something in the steering wheel is rubbing. Every time I turn left or right it makes this noise,it's not real real loud but it is audible. Any ideas? Did have one guy tell be squirt WD-40 into the steering column.

If you're talking about a noise that sounds like rubber rubbing on metal...sort of a squeak, but with a lower pitch than you would think, then I have the same thing in my '06 F250. I've been thinking about dismantling the steering column and applying some lithium, but then I think about how much work that would be and then I think it's really no big deal.

If it's the rubber on metal squeak check the steering column where it passes through the firewall and while you're there spray a little silicone lube on it and see if it helps. I seriously doubt if it's inside of the column itself where the noise is being generated.......jmho
