1997 EB Steering Question
My wife has been complaining that she hears a "creaking" noise when she steers her '97 EB. When I took it for a drive I didn't hear the noise but I did notice that the steering seems to be catching. It's not all the time but it will definitely surprise you when you turn a corner and the wheel binds up going back to center. Any ideas on what could be causing this? If it matters she says the noise seems to be coming from the inside of the truck. Thanks for any help.

I finally found time to tear into the steering column yesterday. Something is definitely broke or worn out. I can move the steering wheel up and down there is probably 1/4" of play. It's like the bushing or whatever supports the steering shaft after the joint for the tilt wheel is worn out allowing everything else to rub. I didn't have a puller to get the steering wheel off to look into it further and was hoping someone on here might be familiar with how the steering column is put together and what I might be looking for.
