This company said they have no problem with it being gravity feed. I was thinking about having a reserve switch with a auto switch that could go back and forth between primary and secondary tank and give me a total of 59 gallons of gas.
Has anyone done this? If so any issues I am not thinking about? I know if fuel line breaks I would be dropping 40 gallons on the street but other than that.
I have been thinking of how i could do the same. that small interior tank just doesn't cut it. i would like to mount a tank under the bed. there is a ton of room under there. might take mine to a custom truck shop. i don't want to mess around too much with something holding large amounts of gas. i like that box and it looks clean just pricey for what it is.
They are about $1,200 installed for the 44 gallon tank. I have heard the F250 4x4 is very difficult to find an aux tank due to the frame rails being narrow. That is was led me into this direction. If that is not the case I would be very happy as I would love to keep all 8 ft of my bed! It is expensive but would be a clean alternative and the tool box is nice to have.
The thing, I don't like about the mustang rear tank is not being able to re-mount my spare tire under the body and out of the way. As I have to much crap in the bed right now with out having to deal with a tire.

I had a Chevy suburban tank that fit nicely in the rear frame rails. I don't remember for sure but I think it was 26 gallon. Yes you do loose that place for the spare but it's a crappy place for the spare to be when you really need it. I'd rather have the spare mounted in the bed than a fuel tank.

A freind of mine up in Camp Verde AZ has a Dent that the PO installed a spare tire winch out of a newer truck under it's bed. Drilled a shadey looking hole in the L/S bedside for access to it to raise and lower the spare. While I'm not suggesting a presidential action like that but throwing the situation out there. Mounting a spare tire
winch out of maybe a 2000 ish F150..yes. But pointing towards a hole in the step bumper. My $.02.

$1200 for 44 gallons? Then why not opt for double the capacity with a 90-gallon Titan tank and tool box for a bit more???
Ha! Well there you go Orich. I was thinking more like the pics below but you spearheaded my idea.
I was going to use Chevy or ford factory setup but, I have one heavy azz spare D load rated tire & rim plus about 8ft. of cable so, I can just drag it under an not have put so close under to hook onto it. Plus the winch was $5 new in a box at the loco flea-market. I put 3/16" coated ss aircraft cable.
I'am still using under side support bracket for insurance since my truck is 4wd and will see rougher terrain then most 2wd's

It's not pretty but it works for me. I've hd it for about 10 yrs but just took pixs last yr.
