As for an update, I have made some. I have taken some pictures of the motor bolted into the truck. I had the drivelines serviced and new u-joints put in. I also had the radiator re-cored and painted but it's sitting outside right now so it's too dark to take any quality pictures so I wil update with that tomorrow. Got the new starter motor yesterday, it's a mini high torque motor that will work wonders with headers. I ordered a tach off eBay as well, but insted of getting the big 10" tach and tiring it to the steering column like everyone in the world, my co-worker thaught how awesome it would be to get a hood tach from a 69 GTO and use one of those. So that's exa what I did, I found someone who sold really nice oem replacements and ordered one. I have never seen any truck, or anything that is not a GTO, with a hood tach so I think it will turn out very cool and I can't wait to install it and see how it works. Got the fenders painted the correct color this time. And I decided to get all the locks worked on so they all work I now have a working passenger door lock as well as a glovebox and toolbox key.
Today I got some more things done I finaly, with the help of a grinder, got the passenger side header to fit along with the new starter motor. I'm Also building a new gauge cluster out of my oringinal and the one I got at the junkyard. I got a good picture of the radiator as well.
So, what year of truck is it? The emblem on the fender shows 73-76, the emblem on the cowl panel could be 77-79 but the tag on your door jam is showing 77 but,the frame is either a 78 or 79.???????????????????????

The truck is actually a 77. At some point in its life it was hit in the front driver side fender and replaced with ones off a 76 camper special. The door on the driver side was also replaced, so I had marti auto make me up a new door vin plate to match the cab. The frame is oringinal to the truck, because the vin that is stamped on the frame rails matches the sticker on the cab. Also it has acquired a 390 at some point in its life that came along with poorly made engine mounts/ towers that appear to be out of a 78-79 with a 460

Curious how someone in high school is financing all of this? I think I may need your secret so I can build my truck at anything faster than a snails pace. haha

My school has a “work based learning" class which basically lets me leave school at 11 and go to work for high school credit which allows me to work almost 40 hours a week. I have also been working at les Schwab for the past 8 months and saving every paycheck since.
That's cool that your school does that and your parents haven't done the typical deal where "if you're earning money you're paying bills".
Also takes someone responsible beyond their years to save everything they make, I made a lot of money when I was younger, so many nights I can't remember, what a waste. haha
Well a whole lot has happened since I posted last. The front clip is now on the truck and resting on new rubber bushings. Right now it is not held in with more than 4 bolts, but I plan to fully install and tighten the bolts some time today so we can put the hood on and no longer have to tarp the thing every night. All of the electrical in the engine compartment has been ran and clicked into place. I mad a coupple runs to the junk yard to pick up some random odds and ends which included another hood hinge, a gun rack out of a 72' crew cab and out of the same crew cab I found the wireing harness for a dual horn set up so I got that along with another horn to go with it. There was another truck that had a 79 grill shell in nice order so if anyone needs one there is one here. The main thing I have been working is fixing all of the wiring in the cab. Some of the bad wiring was of my own design, but a lot of it was because of what the previous owner decided to do. So this time we are doing it right with sodded and heat shrink tubing. Replaced the door speakers just because and ran the wireing through the side of the door to keep it out of the way and making it look a lot better. Painted the jack and all of the stuff I got at the junk yard. Hoping to energize the whole system tonight and start the truck by the end of the week!
Went to the junkyard again today to find a blower motor resistor because the idiot who had it before me decided to take it out and stuffed the wireing harness way up in the dash. In the same truck I got it out of I found a cigar lighter and a glovebox door that is in good order if anyone needs one. I also got the ford grill letters cleaned up and installed, they look really good and add depth to the grill
