Help finding new oil pan
I have a 1979 F150 300 Inline 6 (4.9L) 4x4 with a 4 speed manual. I have a fist size dent near the oil pan plug. When the previous owner did this it broke the seal of the gasket. I decided to fix this (oil leak) with out paying attention to part matching or numbers, before I ordered a Dorman oil pan for I think a V8 so it doesn't fit.
The numbers I took from the original equipment is D6UE-6675-AA. The D6UE might not be right. What I am trying to find with no luck is a new oil pan that fits this engine. The original oil pan has a port on the driver side for the dipstick, holds 6 quarts and the oil plug is in the rear bottom of the pan.
Where can I find a new oil pan?
Could I used the old oil pan with a new gasket?
A Mechanic told me it's better to replace the pan and gasket if the original had a dent in it. The old gasket did look like it had been flattened out.
I'd provide a picture but I don't have a garage and the oil pan is back on to protect everything from the weather in SD.
Thanks!
The Ford part number for this pan is: D5TZ-6675-A = 300 I-6 1975/79 Econoline & 1978 F150/250 4WD from serial number AJ0,001 to before serial number BJ0,001.

No Ford dealer or obsolete parts vendor has any.
Remove dent as much as possible. Make sure pan is is in good general shape to fit to block surfaces. If plug hole is damaged, weld or braze a 1/2" fine threaded nut to bottom of pan. Use a 1/2" fine threaded bolt to use as a new plug. Use a nylon washer for new plug gasket. A new coat of paint and you are good to go. It might not look like new, but it will work and the new plug will never strip out. Total expense - about $2.
This also works to fix a stripped out pan plug.
Like i said, this may or may not help you. Good luck,...jack
