Cummins swap

Hey guys, doin some research on a 1st gen cummins swap for my 96 PSD. Ive googled it a million times but havent found a good detailed swap thread. I dont expect its very hard being a mechanical engine but theres still some questions id like answered where i can go to when into the swap.

Ive found a few threads with lots of pics but nothing detailed sayin what parts and where.

Wondering if anyone has a good thread stored away on some forum that shows almost every inch of the build. thanks everyone!

Why would you swap the awesome Powerstroke for a Cummins?

Valve guides are gone and i dont like to deal with electrical much. its a good solid engine, most run forever but i like the cummins more. its either a cummins or a DT360. a cummins is a little easier to find and adapt though

I've owned/own 7.3 and cummins. They're both great engines, but there's really no comparison between the two.

You can find a swap thread. Or at least read so many threads that you get the picture. The easy parts are figuring out engine mounts, trans adapters, and the like. The hardest part is getting gauges to work. You want to adapt your 7.3 sensors (the one that send signals to your dash gauges) to the cummins where appropriate. The tough one is the tach, you have to modify the tach signal or integrate the 7.3 tach pickup to the cummins IP gear. The swaps are easy, but take some ingenuity to figure everything out along the way.

It shouldnt be a very hard swap but ive never done a diesel swap before. many gasser swaps but no diesel swaps yet
