Oil Sampling

What is the best way to get a good sample for the lab if I am not changing the oil yet? I am thinking to just drain off 1 or 2 quarts and get the sample just before putting the plug back. If I catch the first bit off the bottom of the pan will it affect my test results a lot? I have read on Blackstone's web site not to use the first or the last oil that comes out.

If this is going to be a regular thing I would invest in a Fumoto drain valve. I have been using them for years in all of my vehicles without any problems. And, yes I off road with my truck and have never knocked it off. They make oil changes and drawing samples so much easier.

After warming and shutting down the engine, use a syringe with a tube on it and draw oil out of the HPO reservoir.
