I am working on a 1988 7.3 non turbo. I am installing recently checked heads and have a few questions? What is the head bolt torque ? I have read 1st 65 then 85 then 105 ? What is the sequence ? Do I install a thread sealer on bolts ? Do I lube the threads for torqueing.
Here ya go try that. Yes lube threads and base where headbolt contacts head. Assembly lube or light oil. Most seem to go to 110lb. Number sequence and then linr sequence. I went over mine 3 more times today on the head i installed for a total of like 6 or 7 times. No sealer! Not needed.
