I have a 2000 F350 dually that has been acting up. At an idle, it will sometimes die, and on the highway when maintaining speed, it will cut out and surge sometimes. It seems to be the worst at a certain spot on the throttle but I'm not sure if it would be the TPS, or somewhere else.

Reason: Title clarification
If you have cruise control. Try setting it at the certain speed and see if the symptoms return. If the truck runs fine on cruise but glitchy with the pedal then you might want to investigate the throttle position sensor and idle validation switch.
Also check to make sure the stamped tin nut on the IPR is nice and tight. Sometimes those things come loose and fall down into the engine valley and cause the symptoms you describe.
