Thanks. I was just trying to be funny and giving you a hard time about "forgetting"... I know you're busy shopping.

My "striker" bar rubs on the opposite side of the latch mechanism as yours... mine scrapes on the rigid side instead of riding down against the safety latch and keeps the hood from popping open even though the latch "pops" now.

I hate to bend on the striker bar too much, it's the ONLY thing keeping the hood from opening at 80 mph and folding itself over the windshield (have seen it happen).

I may slot the holes in the latch mechanism, I need about 1/4" movement.

Post some pics up, and I wasn't offended I mean to post pics and videos up all the time and forget, it's part of my military disability sadly. I really do mean the best though.

I don't want to keep beating a dead horse... but just in case anybody else comes here with the same problem, here's what I have.

With two small washers inserted between the z-shaped wire striker and the hood, the "loop" is moved over enough for the hood latch to "pop" when I pull the release lever rather than just being "dead" - but I still have to pry the hood open; it doesn't pop up like a normal hood.

The heavy wire striker scrapes on the driver's side of the hood latch which is what (I think) is keeping the hood from popping. Without the wire striker installed on the hood, the hood opens & closes easily.

You can kind of see that even with the washers tilting the wire catch or striker toward the center of the hood latch; the striker is still rubbing on the right side of the slot in the latch.

I'll put it back in the vise and try a bigger hammer.

I don't like having the extra washers in there, and I have to slam the hood way too hard to get it to shut... but it works!
