Hood cable broken

The cable from the cab that opens my hood has broke. I have found that the break is not by the hood lever, therefore I suspect it is under the hood by the latch ... Now I have the challenge to open the hood to be able to repair the cable. Does anybody know how to do this?

Thanks,

Mark Thompson (Ford only owner)

Find someone else who has a truck like yours and explore non-destructive ways of opening it. Not much help but that is probably where you are at.

No promises, but this worked for my 1970 VW back in the day:

Grab the hood as best you can and lift like mad. Once the weight is off the suspension, the pin in the clip may just pop out. The edge of the pin isn't totally square, so if there is any room for play, this experiment will find it.

Again, no promises on not bending the hood or other boo-boos.

Good luck!
